Earlier this week Lina had to take the 1 hour glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. You drink an orange flavored sugar solution and then an hour later the doctor will draw a blood sample from your arm to check your blood sugar level. The idea is to see how efficiently your body processes sugar. Lina had heard that the drink tasted awful and that she should consume it cold to soften the blow. She was very fearful that she wouldn't be able to down the sugar solution. She kept it in the back of the refrigerator to insure it would be the coldest it could be before consumption. Fast forward, she absolutely ENJOYED the drink. She told me that she tapped the bottle to get the last drops. I think she is hoping to fail the test so that she has another shot at the orange sizzurp!
There is more drama to this story, but I'll leave that for you girls to chat it up with L.

My glucose test results are in... Sugar level is normal. Oh well... Looks like I won't be drinking the orange flavored solution again. For those who are worried about drinking the solution, fear not. Make sure you drink the juice while it's cold. I placed mine in the freezer for about 40 minutes and it turned into slush so it wasn't that bad.
LOL! I hated that test! I ended up having to do the 3 hour test when I was pregnant with Cianna.
Did you drink it while it was cold? I can't imagine drinking it warm, it's probably gross when it's warm. My doctor told me twice, "drink it while it's cold. It tastes better."
Well when I did it they gave it to me in the testing office and they had it cold in a glass bottle. It was WAY too sweet for me! Plus I am not an orange soda fan and that is the taste it reminded me of...
Oh... My doctor gave it to me for the following appointment. The doctor did say it was a cross between flat orange soda and sugary flavored orange juice. Of which I hate both. LOL!! So I was already not looking forward to it. I guess cause I drank it as a slush made it better.
They may have changed the way they do the test now. Having to sit in an office for 1 hour was annoying. Then having to sit there again for 3 hours was worse. Maybe they let me leave for the 3 hour test, I don't really recall. It has been almost 10 years now since I've done it...
